SinOne Proximity Sensing Technology

Proximity sensing technology is primarily used for close-range, non-contact sensing control of biological entities. Common proximity sensing technologies include infrared reflection and radar detection, which can be applied in public equipment, electrical switches, bathroom products, and smart home appliances.

Infrared reflection technology is suitable for close-range detection; however, it requires openings in the product panel, making it susceptible to interference from light and heat. The production process is relatively complex, necessitating the calibration of the emission and reception angles. Additionally, due to the physical attenuation characteristics of the infrared emitting tube, this technology can result in a shorter product lifespan.

Radar detection technology offers stable mid- to long-range detection capabilities but tends to be more expensive.

Figure 1: Comparison of the Advantages and Disadvantages of Different Proximity Sensing Solutions

The SinOne proximity sensing solution is based on the SinOne 95FS series MCU, which features an integrated proximity sensing detection circuit. Utilizing capacitive sensing technology, it enables non-contact human sensing control and supports touch button combinations while maintaining a low-power operating mode. This solution can be widely applied in human-machine interaction and body detection applications.

The product does not require openings, allowing for an integrated chassis design. The traces on the PCB serve as the sensing circuit, resulting in low costs and a long service life. It is unaffected by light interference, resistant to heat influences, and offers high stability.

Application Products:

    • Public Hygiene

    • Medical Devices

    • Smart Home

    • Automotive Electronics

Typical Application:
Wall Switches

Utilize SinOne proximity sensing technology to achieve a screen wake-up function. When a hand or body approaches the switch, the panel backlight automatically illuminates. Once lit, the user can control the switch. This solution reduces power consumption of the switch and enhances convenience for nighttime operations.
